Databricks Photoshoot
March 2024

I reached out to the Databricks team after they opened their new office on the top floor of Berlin’s Eiswerk building. They were scaling quickly and competing for top talent, so I proposed a space-led photo story to help showcase the office to future hires and support their employer brand. The aim was to capture the space as a destination people genuinely want to work from, not just a place to sit at a desk
To shape the shoot, I planned a clear route through the office and mapped 14 key angles in advance. This kept the day efficient and gave the onsite team a practical guide for how to prep each area before I arrived. The space had been customised around how the team actually works, with additions like breakout zones and extra phone booths, so those details were intentionally prioritised throughout the set.
Before shooting, the space needed to be reset with intention. Clearing distractions, aligning furniture, and placing a few items deliberately in frame so everything felt considered, not staged.

From there, I captured a mix of compositions from clean wides to off-centre moments and close-up details. Natural light and the views were a defining feature of this office, so bracketing was essential to hold both the interior and what you could see outside.
To bring the space to life, I placed people into selected frames and introduced subtle motion blur to add energy and realism. The edit was focused on clean, natural corrections, with detailed masking to balance the light across the space, plus small perspective adjustments to keep everything true.

The final imagery was used across Databricks’ hiring page and social channels to support recruitment and promote the brand story, while also highlighting Techspace’s role in bringing the new office to life.
